Health = Sleep + Physical Health + Mental Health
Mental Health can be summarized as the level of functional and/or metabolic efficiency of a human at the macro (social) level.
Because a state of completely problem-free living without suffering is probably nothing more than a myth, being able to cope with suffering (for example with mindfulness) is important for your "happiness".
Given the certainty of death and the constant risks of all kinds of problems, happiness may be some kind of useful state of denial. It has even been proposed to classify happiness as a psychiatric disorder.
Diet and illness are more physical health related and your physical health has an impact on your mental health, but lets keep them separated for some degree of simplicity... (emily sez: it seems silly to account for a mental illness over in the physical health area of the equation, but i agree we need some simplicity here.)
